SHIFT: Full-Time, DaysRATE: $27 - $29 per hour ***depending on experienceBENEFITS:

JOB DESCRIPTION:A Physical Therapist Assistant functions under the direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist and observes patients before, during, and after therapy, noting the patient's status and reporting it to a physical therapist.RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Help patients do specific exercises as part of the plan of care and treat patients using a variety of techniques, such as massage and stretching
  • Use devices and equipment, such as walkers, to help patients
  • Serve as a liaison to residents, families, support departments, etc., to adequately plan for resident's needs
  • Record patients' progress and report the results of each treatment to the physical therapist, working with them to discuss and evaluate resident information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment
  • Clean treatment areas and set up therapy equipment
  • Demonstrate ability to work with senior residents
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Current PTA license in NYS required
  • Previous PTA experience preferred
  • Experience in long-term care preferred
  • Must be flexible, punctual, professional, and reliable
  • Strong customer service skills and compassion
