Under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, Evaluates, instructs, and aids patients using a variety of physical therapy procedures and therapies. Determines proper treatments, procedures, and therapies and counsels patients in the use of equipment and techniques. Works following a physician's orders, or operating independently under New York State direct access statute. Works under the supervision of a currently licensed New York State registered physical therapist, and can only remain in this pending licensure classification for up to 90 days following graduation per NYS regulations. At which time, staff must have obtained and be working on a temporary license. - - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - - Evaluates patient's functional abilities and disabilities by tests, observations and information provided by family members, physician, nursing staff and others.
