Position overview

Our client is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist (PT) to join their team, specializing in geriatric care. This role focuses on helping older adults regain and maintain their independence through tailored rehabilitation programs. The PT will evaluate patients' physical abilities, create and implement personalized treatment plans, and monitor progress to ensure optimal outcomes. The position emphasizes improving mobility, reducing pain, and restoring function for elderly patients with various age-related conditions.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess patients' physical abilities and limitations through comprehensive evaluations.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans focusing on improving mobility, reducing pain, and restoring functional independence for geriatric patients.
  • Implement therapeutic exercises and interventions using evidence-based practices and modalities.
  • Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and document interventions and outcomes accurately.
  • Educate patients and their families on safe practices, home exercises, and adaptive equipment.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to stay current with advancements in geriatric care.

Qualifications and requirements

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program.
  • Valid state license or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with geriatric populations.
  • Strong understanding of age-related physical challenges and therapeutic interventions.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Empathetic and patient-centered approach to care.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
