Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:15 PM (7.5 hours/day, 37.5 hours/week)
Patient Load: 12–14 patients per day
Compensation:
- Local Rate: $47/hour
- Travel Rate: $53/hour
Overview:
We are seeking an entry-level Physical Therapist to join a collaborative and dynamic multi-disciplinary team at a leading healthcare facility in New York City. This is a 60-day contract position, with opportunities to rotate across inpatient, outpatient, and acute services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial evaluations and develop treatment plans for a diverse patient population
- Administer physical therapy interventions in accordance with individualized plans
- Re-assess patients and adjust goals and interventions as needed
- Provide caregiver training and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Recommend and coordinate appropriate durable medical equipment
- Participate in discharge planning and home exercise programming
- Document initial assessments, progress notes, summaries, and discharge reports
- Maintain accurate patient attendance records, charges, and statistical data
- Attend clinics, meetings, and in-services as required
- Supervise Rehab Patient Care Associates, students, and volunteers as needed
- Provide coverage for additional patients as needed based on staffing
- Follow all institutional policies and procedures
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree required; Doctorate in Physical Therapy strongly preferred
- Experience: 0–1 year of relevant experience
- License: Must hold a current New York State Physical Therapy license
- Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency in analytical problem-solving
- Intermediate-level MS Office skills
- Experience with the Epic EMR system and Outpatient Physical Therapy settings
Additional Requirements:
- Must be a current member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)
