Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant – Contract

Location: New York, NY 10003 (10 Union Square East)

Start Date: September 2, 2025

End Date: November 29, 2025

Schedule: Monday to Friday | 7.5 hours/day | 37.5 hours/week

Contract Duration: ~3 months

Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of recent PTA experience

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join a dynamic care team on a full-time, contract basis. The PTA will administer physical therapy interventions under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, ensuring that patient progress and outcomes align with the prescribed treatment plan.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer physical therapy treatments as outlined by the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Maintain open and continuous communication with the Physical Therapist regarding patient progress and treatment modifications.
  • Document patient care accurately and submit documentation promptly.
  • Monitor patient response and report any significant changes or concerns to the Physical Therapist.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary coordination and recommend durable medical equipment as appropriate.
  • Support discharge planning by contributing clinical observations and recommendations.
  • Attend case conferences, clinical meetings, and in-service training as assigned.
  • Supervise and support PTA students during clinical rotations as needed.
  • Comply with all facility protocols, safety standards, and HIPAA requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as required by supervisory staff.

Requirements:

  • Licensure: Active New York State PTA license (required)
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent PTA experience; 7 years preferred
  • Education: Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy Assisting
  • Skills:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to follow treatment protocols with precision and care
  • Analytical problem-solving and adaptability in a clinical environment
