Job Summary:The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative serves as the face of the organization by engaging directly with patients for blood specimen collection. This role requires skillful, safe, and accurate phlebotomy practices, combined with strong interpersonal communication to ensure a calm and confident patient experience. Working under the guidance of the area supervisor, this position maintains high standards of confidentiality, professionalism, and process excellence in both clinical and forensic specimen handling.Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily specimen collection and processing tasks as assigned
- Provide excellent phlebotomy services, including pediatric and geriatric collections
- Maintain a professional, clean, and safe collection environment
- Adhere to established protocols for patient interaction, specimen handling, and labeling
- Ensure accurate recordkeeping and timely specimen submission for lab processing
- Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed
- Maintain a positive, patient-focused image of the organization
- Follow all HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards
- Communicate effectively with patients and internal teams regarding procedures
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors, process excellence, and attention to detail
Required Experience:
- Minimum 6 months experience in phlebotomy or healthcare support
- 1+ year phlebotomy experience preferred
- Customer service experience in retail or healthcare environments preferred
- Data entry and keyboarding proficiency required
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (Required in CA, NV, WA)
Required Skills:
- High-quality specimen collection and patient care
- Strong attention to detail and confidentiality
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Data entry and recordkeeping
- Flexible availability and schedule adaptability
Preferred Skills:
- Certified phlebotomy training
- Experience in pediatric and geriatric blood draws
- Strong communication and customer service presence
- Familiarity with lab systems or EHR platforms
- Professional demeanor and positive patient engagement
Additional Skills:

- Willingness to work all scheduled hours including Saturdays
