This role involves drawing quality blood samples and preparing those specimens for lab testing while adhering to established protocols. The PSR I builds trust and confidence with patients, clearly explaining procedures and performing safe, accurate blood collection. Responsibilities
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor
- Maintain a safe and professional environment
- Confidently perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing per established procedures
- Maintain required records and documentation
- Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public
QualificationsJob Requirements:
- Ability to deliver quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment
- Work independently with minimal on-site supervision
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric draws
- Flexible availability (including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed)
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (Required in CA, NV, and WA)
Experience:
- Minimum 6 months required; 1+ year of phlebotomy experience preferred
- Customer service experience in retail/service environments preferred
- Keyboard/data entry experience required
Additional Requirements:
- Must be proficient in using straight needles
- Must be able to operate a computer EMR program
