Job Location : Jersey City,NJ, USA
The phlebotomist performs venipuncture, capillary blood collection and other specimen collection for all age groups. Additional duties may include specimen processing, point of care testing and documentation and patient registration.
The phlebotomist performs and executes proper phlebotomy techniques in order to obtain patient blood samples via a needle stick. Review laboratory requisitions and test orders for accuracy prior to performing phlebotomy. Ensure proper and accurate specimen labeling and records collection and receipt of specimens in the laboratory system. Centrifuging and preparing specimens for pick up. Adhere to proper infection control practices and HIPAA policies and procedures.
