Job Description :
Typical duties for a phlebotomist may include, but is not limited to, the following:
  • Performing phlebotomy according to established procedure
  • Identify patients and properly label specimen tubes
  • Determine priority of STAT draws and ensure timely transport of all patient specimens for testing
  • Registers, orders, and accessions specimens utilizing lab and hospital information systems
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in written form
  • Ensure the efficient operation of the lab as a whole
