As a Phlebotomist, you will play a vital role in ensuring a safe and positive experience for our donors. Here's what you will do:
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including FDA approved Standard Operating Procedures, OSHA, CLIA, and GMP.
- Provide exceptional customer service, maintaining a positive donor experience aligned with our company values and culture.
- Maintain cleanliness and professionalism in the work area.
- Review donor identification and uphold confidentiality standards.
- Set up and prepare equipment for venipuncture and plasmapheresis procedures.
- Accurately label units and samples.
- Perform venipunctures and plasma collection with a focus on quality and safety.
- Operate automated plasmapheresis machines and respond to alarms and alerts.
- Monitor donor conditions to ensure comfort, safety, and quality of plasma.
- Safely disconnect donors and manage biohazard waste, including cleaning spills and following safety protocols.
- Conduct routine calibration and maintenance of equipment.
- Report unsafe conditions to management.
- Maintain sufficient inventory and replenish supplies.
- Help facilitate training efficiencies for compliance.
- Perform all job-related tasks assigned.
This is what we are looking for:
- A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
- Specific certification or licensing based on State requirements.
- Preferred experience of at least three months in a medical or healthcare environment.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to follow protocols are essential.
- Basic computer knowledge and documentation skills are required.
- Able to read and interpret safety regulations and procedural manuals.
- Effective communication abilities in English, both written and verbal.
- Capability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
- Reliability and punctuality with a flexible work schedule are essential.
- Ability to perform venipunctures effectively.
