Job Title: Phlebotomist Location: Hyannis, MA Pay Rate: $30 - $33 per hour Type: ContractPosition Overview:We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Phlebotomist to support blood collection and donor services. The ideal candidate will play a key role in organizing, recruiting, and performing blood draws to support hospital-based blood supply needs. This position requires a high level of accuracy, excellent interpersonal skills, and a commitment to delivering safe and effective care to donors and patients.Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct donor screening and eligibility assessments in compliance with CDC, FDA, AABB, and CAP guidelines
• Perform whole blood collections and therapeutic phlebotomy procedures
• Collect appropriate specimens from donors and patients as needed
• Support blood collection at both fixed sites and mobile blood drives
• Accurately prepare, label, and document specimens for laboratory testing
• Maintain records, perform data entry, and track deferrals in accordance with quality standards
• Monitor supply levels and notify supervisors of inventory needs
• Ensure all work areas remain clean, safe, and organized
• Deliver exceptional service to donors, patients, staff, and visitors
• Assist with donor recruitment efforts and participate in departmental initiatives
• Follow all organizational policies, safety protocols, and emergency procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and handle high-pressure situations
• Basic computer skills
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required within 90 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in phlebotomy
• Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program or national certification
• Donor Phlebotomy Technician (DPT ASCP) or Qualification in Donor Phlebotomy (QDP ASCP) strongly preferred
• Familiarity with blood group/Rh typing and donation procedures
