Qualifications
- Minimum of high school diploma or GED required
- At least 2 years Pharmacy Technician experience in sterile compounding highly preferred
- Prior experience with Omnicell, Cerner or other similar programs preferred but not required
- Competency in the safe handling of chemotherapy drugs obtained within 6 months and renewed annually
Licenses/Certificates/Registrations:
- Pharmacy Technician National Certification (e.g.: CPhT or ExCPT) required
- New York State Pharmacy Technician registration required.
- National IV certification preferred.
Skills/Abilities
- Technical knowledge and understanding of the handling of agents in an IV room environment required
- Proficiency in precise measurement of agents with extreme cautionary measures including mathematical understanding of volumes, concentration and general dosing ranges
- Knowledge of medication brand and generic names
- Ability to follows instructions precisely
