The Stroke Center at NYU Langone HospitalSuffolk is designated by the New York State Department of Health as a Primary Stroke Center, with expert neurologists available to provide treatment 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Additionally, NYU Langone HospitalSuffolk has multiple outpatient sites, including an outpatient wound care center, a hemodialysis center, and various primary care and specialty offices.
Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Pharmacy Technician - Pharmacy - Per Diem - Pharmacy - Per Diem - Day / Evening / Night / Holiday /. In this role, the successful candidate Under direct supervision of a Pharmacist and following prescribed procedures, assists in processing medications orders by ensuring medications are promptly, accurately, and safely delivered, charged for and credited. Prepares various drugs and parenteral products for delivery to patients and labels pharmaceutical orders. Maintains records related to drug use and charges for drugs. Receives and stores pharmaceuticals from manufacturer and/or distributor.

Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a High school diploma or equivalency and Registered Pharmacy Technician licensure/National Certification (NHA/PTCB) or NYS Pharmacy Intern permit required. Ability to operate PC, compatible with high school level. Pharmacy Technician experience required, certification required. Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail. Ability to multi-task and be a team player Ability to work and stand for up to 80% of work times, as well as to lift, push, and pull weights of up to twenty pounds. Basic knowledge of equipment necessary to meet the specific needs of the patient population served by the department.
