Pharmacy Technician - Ascension : Job Details

Provide distributive pharmacy services and technical support for the pharmacist prior to receiving certification.

• Refill and maintain automated dispensing systems.
• Prepare orders and maintain inventory for the Pharmacy department.
• Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounds.
• Repackage bulk medications.
• Receive and store incoming supplies.
• Triage incoming calls and serves as a liaison between pharmacy, patient and health professionals by providing information.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Registration with the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board required.
• Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association preferred.
• Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) preferred.

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of Pharmacy Technician program preferred.

Inpatient experience preferred. Sterile compounding experience preferred.
