Pharmacy Student Intern - Food City : Job Details

Essential Job Functions:

• Must be enrolled in and have successfully completed at least one year of study at an ACPE Accredited College of Pharmacy.
• As permitted by state regulations and under the guidance of the Pharmacist in Charge, receive oral prescriptions from prescribers or their authorized designees, primarily focusing on new telephone prescriptions.
• Deliver and encourage exceptional and friendly service to customers at all times.
• Address telephone inquiries that do not necessitate a pharmacist's expertise or judgment.
• Receive both written prescriptions and telephone requests for refills.
• Gather necessary information to prepare prescriptions accurately.
• Record essential details required for dispensing prescriptions.
• Safeguard and store written prescription forms post-dispensing.
• Input data into the pharmacy's computer system.
• Stock over-the-counter products effectively.
• Place completed prescriptions in designated pick-up areas.
• Assist with the preparation of insurance claims and verify payment statuses.
• Keep the department and work area clean and organized.
• Support the maintenance and stocking of pharmacy department supplies.
• Be prepared to take on additional duties as needed.
• Operate the cash register competently.

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Currently enrolled in Pharmacy school and meeting all eligibility requirements.
• Able to meet standard physical, mental, and visual demands.
• Capable of understanding and following verbal and written instructions, performing routine tasks, and managing constant interaction with various individuals daily.
• Must be able to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts to comply with company time and attendance policies.
