Under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager/Pharmacist-In-Charge, safely dispenses medications to patients. This includes interpreting prescriptions, overseeing preparation/compounding of medications, and counseling patients. Pharmacists are responsible to maintain compliance with applicable laws and regulations and follow organizational policies and procedures. The pharmacist is also responsible to support in ordering, receiving, and storage of medications. The pharmacist is responsible for clinical activities such as drug-drug interactions, clarification/recommendation to prescribers, counseling/medication therapy management for patients, and answering drug information questions. This position requires supervision of pharmacy staff and operations when the Pharmacy Manager/Pharmacist-In-Charge is not on duty or delegates this responsibility. Education – Doctor of Pharmacy Degree or equivalent combination of education (B.S.) and experience is required. Experience – Newly graduated and licensed pharmacists are eligible. Prefer 1+ years' experience in outpatient/retail pharmacy setting or pharmacy practice. Licensure/Certification – Maryland Pharmacist license required OR eligibility to obtain licensure. Pharmacists pending Maryland licensure through reciprocation must obtain their Maryland Pharmacist License within 4 months of their date of hire. For newly graduated pharmacists pending Maryland licensure, they must obtain Maryland licensure within 4 months of their graduation date or their date of hire, whichever is later. Pharmacists pending Maryland licensure must work under the supervision of a Maryland Licensed pharmacist and cannot perform pharmacist acts until licensed. Maryland Immunization License also required. CPR certification required as part of this licensure. Immunization Licensure is This license is also required to obtain within 4 months of either new hire or graduation (if new graduate). Knowledge/Skills/Abilities – Needs good communication skills both oral/written. Must be able to respond to interruptions and then return seamlessly to task at hand. Must be able to work quickly and accurately under both time and volume constraints, as well as resolute timelines. Must be willing to move with purpose and a strong sense of urgency. Must be able to work shifts up to 10hrs at a time. Must have strong leadership skills, decision making capability and, interpersonal skills. Must have analytical/mathematical skills along with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Must be able to adapt to change quickly and frequently. Must be able to interact with customers and handle conflict-resolution effectively. Excellent communication and customer service skills are required.
