The role will focus on offering clinical guidance, recommending medication alternatives within drug classes, and addressing questions about drugs impacted by formulary changes, with a specific emphasis on supporting senior patients under the Inflation Reduction Act. This position does not involve direct patient interaction but will require liaising with providers and relaying information through customer service.

  • Navigate multiple internal systems to identify medications within drug classes and ensure the best alternatives for patients are recommended.
  • Offer expert guidance on formulary changes affecting Medicare Part D members, helping providers manage medication costs under the Inflation Reduction Act.
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team including medical directors, providers, and customer service representatives.
  • Assist with complex pharmaceutical questions and assess the full clinical picture to offer effective, clear solutions.
  • Undergo a training period to become familiar with health plan formularies and internal systems, preparing to handle high volumes of calls and emails by mid-November.

Required Skills:

  • Active PA and NJ Pharmacist license required.

  • Experience navigating formularies and identifying alternatives within drug subclasses.
  • Ability to handle clinically complex questions with ease.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Comfortable working with different teams and discussing medications with providers at various clinical levels.
  • Able to quickly gather information across different systems to offer concise and effective solutions.
  • Flexible, detail-oriented, and comfortable handling complex clinical issues.
