Personal Care Attendant (PCA) - Life Care Centers of America : Job Details

The Personal Care Attendant (PCA) is responsible for providing care to and assisting residents with tasks related to the activities of daily living. The PCA will work under the supervision of a licensed nursing staff and in collaboration with the Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements Possess a high school diploma or equivalent Completed a training program that consists of a minimum of sixteen (16) hours of education. The 16 hours of required education and eight (8) hours of simulation must be completed before the PCA has any direct contact with a resident. May work for a single consecutive period of four (4) months. At the conclusion of the four (4) month period, the PCA must meet the certification requirements to become a CNA.
