This is a vital role in supporting our mission of preparing all students to excel at a top college or university. The ideal candidate will have strong classroom management skills, a flexible mindset, and a passion for working with children. Key Responsibilities
- Provide meaningful instruction to students in assigned classrooms while the regular teacher is absent
- Implement lesson plans left by the classroom teacher or develop engaging activities aligned to learning objectives
- Establish a classroom environment that supports academic learning and student engagement
- Maintain order and follow school policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all students
- Communicate with students in a respectful and positive manner
- Assist with classroom and school duties as assigned, including hallway transitions, lunch, and dismissal
- Follow policies and expectations established by the school administration
- Provide feedback to classroom teachers on student performance and classroom behavior as needed
- Attend professional development opportunities when required
Qualifications Education and Certification
- Minimum of 60 college credits and current enrollment in an education program at an accredited college or university
- Valid New Jersey Substitute Teacher Certificate
