JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for activities related to Monitoring, Measurement & Verification, Operations & Maintenance, and Repair & Replacement for energy efficiency projects, project financials, and customer relations.

Job Functions

Must possess a basic to intermediate understanding of the following functions:

  • Serves as customer account manager, maintaining frequent and timely communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Proactively discusses customer's energy-related needs, uncovers opportunities for additional work, and may serve as liaison between customer and applicable business unit.
  • Responsible for M&V activities during the performance period; basic ECMs and technology.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with third-party vendors supporting ongoing Performance Assurance obligations. Coordinates and manages Operations, Maintenance, Repair, and Replacement obligations.
  • Manages and resolves warranty issues in a timely manner.
  • Participates in customer site training at completion of equipment installation and commissioning, and facilitates ongoing training as required.
  • Responsible for data collection, integrity, and analysis.
  • Identifies and resolves performance issues promptly to ensure savings sustenance.
  • Performs savings calculations and routine/non-routine adjustments.
  • Compiles monthly, quarterly, and annual written energy project performance reports.
  • Coordinates, performs, and/or oversees periodic on-site measurements.
  • Responsible for project P&L, including oversight of vendor payables, monitoring customer invoicing, assisting with past due receivables, and timely distribution of M&V reports.
  • Demonstrates awareness of safety rules and practices, encouraging safe work behaviors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Performance Assurance manager.
  • Physical & Environmental Requirements
  • Requires substantial time at various project locations, including overnight travel to customer facilities via auto, air, or rail.
  • Must be able to move autonomously, walking and standing for long periods, and be capable of hearing, seeing, reading, and writing.
  • Work independently and with others, speaking in front of groups and individuals, in indoor and outdoor environments, including construction sites.
  • Technical/Job Skill Qualifications

    The candidate must meet the following minimum qualifications and demonstrate a basic to intermediate understanding of:

    • Effective interaction with project stakeholders, including communication skills and issue resolution.
    • Planning, organizational skills, and data analysis aptitude.
    • Understanding of building systems such as HVAC, EMCS, electrical, solar, wind, and process systems.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with project databases and analytics platforms like SkySpark.
    • Understanding of utility billing and analysis.
    • Knowledge of Energy Performance Contracting principles and related business practices.
    • Familiarity with M&V Guidelines for HUD Energy Performance Contracts, IPMVP, and FEMP M&V Guidelines.
    • Ability to analyze data from instruments like Fluke Power Analyzer, infrared testing equipment, portable data loggers, ultrasonic flow meters, and power meters.
    • Decision-making and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Ability to work in diverse environments.
    • Valid driver's license and eligibility to access government facilities.
    • Reside within close proximity to assigned customer sites.
    Education/Experience
    • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or business-related discipline, with 3-5 years of experience in energy efficiency project implementation.
    • Certification as a CMVP or CEM, or ability to obtain certification.
