Under\ndirect supervision of the General Diagnostic Manager and Medical Director the\nPer Diem Radiologic Technologist (RT) will produce diagnostic images utilizing\na variety of radiographic equipment. Fix radiographic, fluoroscopic and mobile\nequipment following prescribed protocols and procedures. As the RT, you will competently\nperform radiographic procedures on neonates, infants, children, adults and\ngeriatric patients. Complete all studies in a timely and efficient manner and\nproduce film images utilizing Digital Radiography, image processors and process\nas prescribed standards. You will be required to rotate to all radiology sites\nstaffed by UCLA Health.

Duties\ninclude but are not limited to:

  • Assist\n in performing sterile technique procedures as required
  • \n
  • Assist\n Radiologist as needed
  • \n
  • Follow\n established quality assurance procedures
  • \n
  • Maintain\n patient dignity and confidentiality
  • \n
  • Patient\n education prior to the examination
  • \n
  • Preparation\n of needed supplies and equipment set up

The RT is\nexpected to support UCLA healthcare radiology locations in the central region.\nRadiologic Technologists need to possess the skills, knowledge and abilities\nessential to the successful performance of duties assigned to the position;\ngraduate of a Radiologic Technology Training Program approved by the American\nMedical Association or equivalent training, maintaining current CRT, CRT –\nFluoro and ARRT licensure.

Salary Range: $56.55 Hourly

  • ARRT\n certification – required
  • \n
  • CRT license – required
  • \n
  • Fluoroscopic permit –\n required
  • \n
  • BCLS certificate from\n American Heart Association or American Red Cross– required
  • \n
  • Accredited Radiologic\n Technologist Program graduate
  • \n \n
  • Ability to adapt to advancement and changing technology
  • \n
  • Ability to identify and recognize contraindications for\n exams. (Radiology Only)
  • \n
  • Ability to respond efficiently to expressed needs of\n referring services, physicians and patients
  • \n
  • Demonstrate knowledge of clinical billing (IDX codes)\n to ensure appropriate accounting and reimbursement of services rendered
  • \n
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, with ability to\n distinguish between types of procedures within the assigned department(s)\n and medical diagnoses
  • \n
  • Skill in employing independent decision making while\n performing various job functions
  • \n
  • Telephone manners and skills to handle heavy telephone\n lines with courtesy and tact
  • \n
  • Understand the requirements of the EMTALA (Emergency\n Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act)
