Per Diem - Healy House - Residential Counselor, Crisis Response Pay: $17.00 / hourLocation: Albany, New YorkEmployment type: OtherJob Description Req#: 56563Job Details Level : Entry Job Location : Albany-Academy Healy House - Albany, NY Position Type : Per Diem Education Level : High School/GED Salary Range : $17.00 - $17.00 Hourly Travel Percentage : Negligible Job Shift : Day/Evening/Overnight Job Category : Nonprofit - Social Services POSITION OVERVIEW Residential Youth CounselorWe are seeking to hire additional Residential Youth Counselors for Albany, NY in the Crisis Response department of Healy House.Shifts available:Day - Per Diem (as needed)Evening - Per Diem (as needed)Overnight - Per Diem (as needed)The Residential Youth Counselor position is responsible for providing daily therapeutic care and programming according to agency policy and governing bodies' (DSS, OMH, JCAHO, etc.) standards and requirements for elementary aged children.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Must be able to work within trauma informed framework of program, including identifying and using coping/safety plans, maintaining consistency, providing regular routine, and controlling own response to youth.Engage and form positive relationships with all youth served.Complete all mandatory trainings according to programmatic guidelines.Display basic competency in TCI techniques.Follow outlined program routines, therapeutic plans of youth, and program rules and protocols.Work as part of a team including colleague residential counselors, clinicians, on line on call, supervisors, and other administrative and functional support staff.Maintain respectful and appropriate communication with internal and external customers, including county workers, medical staff, parents, etc.Complete and maintain documentation to meet programmatic and regulatory standards.Transport clients for medical, mental health, and other essential needs.Education and/or Experience HS Diploma/GED; Associates degree preferred.Experience working with emotionally disturbed population.Certification / Licensure NYS driver's license.A valid, clean driver's license is required.ABOUT NORTHERN RIVERS If you want a rewarding career where you make a positive impact on children and their families, we want to talk to you!
