Per Diem Cleaner Districtwide - Mount Vernon City School District : Job Details

DISTNGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: Performs routine cleaning tasks. This is routine manual work calling for the performance of simple cleaning duties. Work is usually performed under the immediate supervision of a Head Custodian/Custodian who assigns the tasks and frequently inspects them when completed. Does related work as required. EXAMPLES OF WORK: (Illustrative only) Sweeps and mops floors; sweeps outside areas, rakes leave, picks up papers; Washes windows and polishes floors; High and low dusts woodwork, furniture and other articles; Replenishes lavatory supplies; helps with supply deliveries within school; Cleans lavatories; Participates in snow removal on sidewalks and walkways; REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Some knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment; ability to understand and follow oral and written directions; ability to read and write English; willingness to perform janitorial tasks; thoroughness; dependability, physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
