About the role The People Operations and Recruiting Generalist with Vcheck with be an integral part of our small but mighty HR Team! Working out of the New York office at least 4 days per week, this role will be responsible for supporting our US (multi-state remote) and NY office HR operations, which will include everything from recruiting, onboarding, compliance, employee relations, office management and more. You'll also have exposure to working with a Global Team in India and Romania. This is a hands-on role within a fun, expanding org, working under seasoned HR professionals.
What you'll be doing HR Responsibilities: - Recruiting: Spearhead US recruiting efforts by managing job posts, scheduling interviews, conducting screening calls, and managing candidates in the Rippling ATS. Partner with hiring managers to ensure job descriptions are up to date and accurate. Source candidates, as needed, for open positions.
- Own the employee onboarding and offboarding operational process and experience for our US based team members (remote and in-office).
- Support the Sr. Director of People Operations with managing our HRIS, Rippling, processing employee changes, onboarding and offboarding employees, and supporting the management of apps within the system (including the LMS, reviews, surveys, etc.).
- Act as an initial point of contact for employee questions by responding timely and with a customer service mindset to employee questions, directing them to the appropriate resources, and escalating, as necessary.
- Support in ensuring compliance by responding to state and federal HR notices and emails and submitting required state and federally required reports (EEOC, CA Pay data, etc.).
- Act as a Culture Crew lead, supporting event planning and execution, crafting monthly recognition and benefits posts, etc.
- Assist team leaders and the Sr. Director of People Operations in building reports in our HRIS, educating leaders along the way so they can become proficient in utilizing reporting function. Pull reports, as needed, for the People Operations team.
Office Management Responsibilities: - Own and manage all office inventory, ensuring the office is well equipped and maintained on a daily basis.
- Partner with our remote IT team to ensure office equipment and systems are in good working order and new hire equipment needs are met.
- Manage all office vendor relationships and act as a point of contact between staff, management, and external parties.
- Greet visitors and coordinate access to the building.
- Order team office lunches weekly.
- Ensure office safety by creating the appropriate safety plans.
- Manage mail on a daily basis, uploading documents to the shared mailbox in SharePoint and responding to notices, as applicable.
- Track and manage office budgets and expenses.
- Performs other duties as assigned

- 1-3 years of experience in an HR coordinator, operations, generalist or similar role
- Bachelor's Degree, or 3+ years of experience in a HR capacity
- Proficiency in the following applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Slack
- Experience utilizing HRIS systems and generating reports. Experience with Rippling is a plus.
- High level of discretion, confidentiality and maturity
- Positive, team-oriented attitude
- Multi-state HR experience is a plus
- Experience working in a progressive start-up environment a plus
