Job Description :
Job Title: Payroll Specialist Position Summary: Perform all associated payroll functions for assigned affiliated agencies: Gateway-Longview, Inc. and New Directions Youth and Family Services. Compensation $42,000 - $47,500 * Offers based on education and years of relevant experience Position Specific Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Process bi-weekly payroll, various reports and other payroll-related duties, in a timely, accurate and consistent manner and in accordance with HR policies and union contracts
  • Ensure collection of timesheets from all departments, the totaling and inputting of hours into payroll system
  • Calculate and prepare special payroll checks, including replacement and manual checks
  • Process all employee changes including terminations of employment and coverage to ensure accurate end dates for benefit purpose and sending of required notices
  • Research payroll problems and communicate with staff regarding solutions
  • Produce standard reports and create new reports as needed utilizing payroll reporting and Microsoft Excel software
  • Act as main contact with payroll representatives regarding payroll processing, reports, software upgrades, etc.
  • Calculate and prepare tax forms related to payroll matters
  • Provide wage and related information for unemployment, worker's compensation, disability and any other wage related documents
  • Compute and monitor wage garnishment orders
  • Respond to various inquiries from outside government and other agencies regarding employee payroll data and employment verification
  • Monitor and approve employee expenses submitted through the Agency's expense management system
  • Provide training to employees on the use of the Agency's timesheet and expense management systems
  • Process reports and employee deductions related to Agency retirement provider, unions, and other entities
  • All duties as assigned

  • Self-motivated and detail oriented with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's Payroll system
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage candidates and community contacts from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds
Qualifications
  • Associates degree in business or related field and 3 years of relevant experience
