Job Summary The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly and supplemental payroll for Cottage Hospital, along with preparing payroll-related reports. This role also provides backup support for accounts payable, assists with audits, and gathers cost report data. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring compliance with hospital policies is essential. Duties & Responsibilities
  • Process bi-weekly and supplemental payrolls, including all associated reporting.
  • Prepare monthly payroll data and reports.
  • Post journal entries for payroll and accrue unpaid worked hours as needed.
  • Compute earned time and process related journal entries.
  • Assist with financial and payroll audits.
  • Review quarterly 941 returns, SUI reports, W-2s, and other year-end payroll documents.
  • Maintain Worker's Compensation Classification Reports.
  • Update and track various spreadsheets for audits and cost reporting.
  • Provide backup support for accounts payable functions.
  • Perform general office tasks such as filing, scanning, data entry, and mail processing.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned.
