HYBRID – PAYROLL SPECIALIST
Location; Salt Lake City, Utah (2 days remote, 3 days in office – Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday)
JOB DESCRIPTION
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing
- Manage and process bi-weekly or monthly payroll cycles, including the calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.
- Ensure accuracy in data entry and payroll calculations.
- Tax Compliance
- Prepare and submit payroll tax filings, including federal, state, and local taxes, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Reconcile and resolve any tax discrepancies.
- Benefits Administration
- Administer employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other deductions.
- Coordinate and verify benefit contributions and deductions.
- Payroll Reporting
- Generate and distribute payroll reports to management, HR, and finance teams as needed.
- Prepare payroll-related reports for auditing and compliance purposes.
- Compliance and Recordkeeping
- Stay updated on federal and state labor laws and regulations related to payroll and ensure company compliance.
- Maintain accurate and confidential payroll records.
- Employee Inquiries
- Address employee inquiries related to payroll, tax withholdings, and benefits promptly and professionally.
- Provide assistance with payroll-related forms and documentation.
- Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to streamline and improve payroll processes, recommending changes and automation when appropriate. Ensure payroll procedures align with best practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Profound knowledge on Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to multitask.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field is .
- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role, including hands-on experience with payroll software and systems.
- Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.
- Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive payroll information.
