Harlem Children's Zone (HCZ) — a world-renowned education and poverty-fighting organization based in New York — seeks an enthusiastic, dedicated, mission-aligned Payroll Manager to join our Human Resources Team.
The Payroll Manager will bring a passion for the mission of Harlem Children's Zone: break the cycle of intergenerational poverty with comprehensive, on-the-ground programming that builds up opportunities for children and families to thrive in school, work, and life.
The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely processing of employee compensation, deductions, and tax withholdings. This includes managing payroll systems, ensuring compliance with regulations, handling benefits administration, and resolving any payroll-related issues. The manager also provides training and guidance to payroll staff on payroll processes, compliance requirements, and system usage.
The ideal candidate will possess expertise in managing all payroll-related matters from inception to completion across a matrixed organization with over 2000 employees. This position will report to the HR Director of Operations. This is a hybrid role with three days required in the NYC office.
