Payroll Associate - The Choice : Job Details

Duration: ~12 weeks

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours/week (flexible start between 8:00–9:30 am)

Location: Hybrid, on-site 2 days/week (typically Mondays & Tuesdays)

Salary: $32/hour

The Choice is partnering with a medical association in Washington DC on a Temporary Payroll Compliance Specialist with ADP payroll experience to support a 12-week payroll tax compliance project. This role is critical in ensuring data accuracy, compliance, and smooth payroll operations.

You'll work closely with the payroll team in cleaning, validating, and reconciling payroll data to strengthen compliance across federal, state, and local jurisdictions.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of payroll administration experience, with hands-on ADP Payroll expertise.
• Strong knowledge of state payroll tax regulations and compliance.
• Proven ability to audit data, identify inconsistencies, and implement corrections.
• High attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure accurate and timely federal, state, and local payroll tax filings.
• Monitor and apply current tax laws and regulations.
• Maintain compliance across multi-state and multi-jurisdictional tax requirements.
• Reconcile payroll tax data with the general ledger and third-party tax service reports.
• Perform detailed jurisdictional reconciliations for audits.
• Resolve tax notices and discrepancies with government agencies.
• Conduct internal audits to verify accuracy of tax withholdings and reporting.
• Identify, investigate, and correct payroll tax errors.
