Plan, layout and perform a wide variety of extremely complex and difficult hand finishing operations on rough castings of complicated forms to be used as patterns, core boxes and permanent molds. - Make build-ups or fabricate patterns, core boxes and permanent molds made of various materials. - Layout, align and fasten split sections to make plates or cope and drag plates. Duties require extremely difficult layout to establish inter-relationship of dimensions. Establish interim dimensions not shown on prints. - Setup and operate all types of machine tools, plus conventional and numerical controlled machines, devising and improvising tooling and setup for individual requirements. - Must be capable of programming software for CNC machining such as the use of Solid.
