About the RoleWe're looking for a dedicated Patient Transporter to join our team and help us continue delivering the level of care our patients and families deserve. In this role, you'll be a vital part of our support team, ensuring excellent service, collaboration, and patient outcomes in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Transporters assume responsibility for transporting patients and materials within the hospital and nursing home. Transporters assess inventories and fills over the counter General Stores products correctly and efficiently. What You'll DoSafely transport patients and materials (to include blood and specimens) within the hospital and nursing home Delivers Code Blue Crash Carts, Latex Carts and Urology Catheter Carts as neededEmploys safe lifting techniques when transporting patients to and from beds, exam tables, stretchers and wheelchairsSets up different types of traction for patient useTransports deceased patients to the morguePicks up requisitions for blood, pharmacy meds and slips from required units and delivers to the appropriate service; delivers stat, lab specimens, and medical chartsInventories and exchanges oxygen cylinder and other gas tanks to maintain patient needsInventories and fills over the counter General Stores products correctly and efficientlyPerform responsibilities with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiencyUse hospital systems and tools to document care and support operationsContinuously seek opportunities to improve processes and support patient and staff satisfaction What You BringHigh school graduate or GED equivalent required experience working in a hospital environment preferredStrong communication and teamwork skillsCommitment to providing patient-first, high-quality serviceComfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative environmentMust be able to multitask while remaining professional, focused, composed and positiveMust be able to establish an appropriate and effective rapport with othersMust be flexible to take initiative and embrace new opportunities to grow both personally and organizationallyProblem solving skillsEffective interpersonal skillsAbility to work as part of a team and independentlyBasic computer skills Why Saratoga HospitalA caring, community-focused culture rooted in teamwork and trustSupportive leadership that invests in your development and well-beingComprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, retirement plans, tuition assistance, and wellness programs.
