Shift As Needed Scheduled Weekly Hours 4 POSITION PURPOSE: Responsible for transporting patients to and from the Diagnostic Imaging Department, provides basic nursing care to patients in transport and while in the DID department, cleaning and maintaining transportation equipment, assisting the receptionist/clerk with basic clerical duties. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Transports patients and communicates pertinent information to appropriate caregivers.
• Cleans and maintains transportation equipment.
• Follows O2 and IV integrity protocols for transport.
• Synchronizes multiple department transportation for efficiency and effectiveness of patient care with help from involved DID modalities and ancillary departments.
• Demonstrates competencies in nursing assistant skills based on current scientific knowledge.
• Demonstrates knowledge of emergency situations, recognizing and responding appropriately.
• Performs some clerical functions including computer interaction related to schedules, releases and other clerical duties as needed

SPECIALIZED KNOW-HOW & REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Currently active on the IL CNA Registry.
• Experience in an acute care setting preferred
• Demonstrates the knowledge necessary to provide care appropriate to any age-related needs of the patients served on assigned unit. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the patient population served. Able to assess and interpret data about the patient's status in order to identify each patient's needs and provide the appropriate care, including age-related care, needed by the neonate, pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patient group.
