Wage range: Starting rate of $25.50 per hour - (DOE) Your Impact The Patient Services Supervisor functions as an extension of the Nutrition & Dining Leadership team, providing supervision for the daily provision of services including the meal and tray service process, staff supervision, food production to quality standards and sanitation. Major emphasis is on patient meal services, with secondary duties in other department areas. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS Reports to: Patient Services Manager Supervises: Patient Services Leads & Unit Hosts ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Train, supervise, and evaluate Unit Host staff; manage scheduling, performance, and development.
- Ensure timely, accurate patient meal service aligned with dietary needs, restrictions, and preferences.
- Collaborate with nursing and dietary teams to support patient care and satisfaction.
- Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, infection control, and regulatory standards (e.g., HACCP, HIPAA, JCAHO).
- Monitor and support kitchen operations, including tray setup, delivery, and workstation readiness.
- Address patient concerns promptly and ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Oversee documentation, reporting, and adherence to departmental procedures and safety protocols.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, disciplinary actions, and performance evaluations.
- Support offsite meal programs, retail production, and senior meal services as needed.
- Ensure compliance with emergency preparedness, life safety, and hazardous materials protocols.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS KNOWLEDGE OF:
- Knowledge of modified diets, quality food preparation, and training skills.
- Human resources policy and procedure administration.
- Safety policies and procedures.
- Professional Standards applied to work.
- Business and professional standards of dress and behavior.
- Attendance guidelines, regulatory company and departmental policies and procedures.
SKILLS IN:
- Ability to write professional emails and business correspondence and effectively present information and respond to questions.
- Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions & decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as; fractions, percentages, ratios & proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION MINIMUM REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- or three (3) months previous experience.
- or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PREFERRED:
- Experience in food service in the Healthcare Industry.
