Job Description :

Nemours is seeking a Patient Services Rep II - Primary Care at Nemours Children's Health, Foulk Road, Wilmington, DE.

Provide excellent service to each patient and family by performing and completing designated business processes associated with outpatient visits. Ensure that all demographic and financial information is accurately verified before the visit, and monitor the waiting area to maintain patient safety and high service levels.

Participate in Nemours programs for continuous quality, performance, and service improvement, working with management to enhance services through a team-based approach.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet and communicate with patients and families at the start of their visit and during interactions using the AIDET protocol (acknowledge, introduce, inform about duration, explain, thank).
  • Complete tasks related to outpatient appointment processes before, during, and after visits, including but not limited to:
    • Preparing for scheduled patient visits (95%)
  • Schedule follow-up appointments using iGuide when appropriate.
  • Manage MyNemours sign-ups and activations.
  • Communicate with clinical staff regarding the status of waiting patients, especially those waiting over ten minutes, and update families using AIDET principles.
  • Report problems to the manager when service recovery is needed.
  • Reconcile payments at shift end following Cash Collections Policy, and complete End of Day (EOD) reports including DCRF and LDCRS.
  • Complete daily work queues and maintain system proficiency in scheduling, cancellations, order entry, referrals, payments, and insurance verifications.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure the work environment and waiting area are orderly and safe.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management, including managing incoming calls, handling correspondence, lab results, and patient communication.
  • POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

    • High School diploma or equivalent.
    • Minimum of 3-6 months related experience.
    • Computer and typing skills required.
    • Clerical experience in a physician's office preferred; EPIC system experience preferred.
