Patient Services Assistant - Virginia Tech University : Job Details

To assist with providing communications support to the Veterinary College and Teaching Hospital via telephone, paging and computerized messaging system. Will serve as a contact for emergencies within the building. Will interact frequently with college security and Virginia Tech Police. Will handle physical plant calls as needed. Supports the Patient Receiving/ Medical Records/ Patient Coordinators in proper registration, admissions and scheduling. Must be able to calmly and quickly handle patient emergency situations contacting the proper personnel for assistance. General Office duties will include faxing and copying, scanning and uploading forms into the medical record. This person must have good communication skills and be able to communicate well with referring vets, clients, faculty, staff and students. Maintains a calm and pleasant demeanor at all times.
