Description
The Patient Service Representative supports the mission, vision, and values of NMHC, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory standards.
The role involves checking patients in and out of appointments, demonstrating exemplary customer service, and assisting patients and guests effectively.
Responsibilities
Greet patients and guests, confirm their identity, and provide necessary visit information.Complete check-in and check-out procedures.Update patient identification, demographic, and insurance information.Register patients as needed.Obtain patient consents and authorizations.Collect co-payments, past due balances, and point-of-service payments.Post payments, process billing, and perform end-of-day cash drawer reconciliation.Maintain a clean and comfortable waiting area.Inform patients of delays or appointment changes.Schedule appointments as necessary.For PSRs in the ICC, float to other ICCs/departments as needed.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsRequired:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 0-2 years of customer service experience.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience in healthcare settings.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Bilingual abilities.
