Pay: $20.26 - $26.34 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience
Summary: As a Patient Scheduling Coordinator, you will play a vital role in enhancing the patient experience by efficiently scheduling and registering patients for specialized procedures. Your responsibilities will include obtaining necessary demographic information and performing essential clerical functions.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule specialized appointments and follow-up visits, ensuring the appropriate length of visit as per physician requests.
- Guide patients on pre-visit preparations, including what to bring, appointment times, and locations.
- Register patients for various medical services, including laboratory and outpatient services, and pre-register patients when necessary.
- Collect, confirm, and thoroughly review patient demographics, including current employers, emergency contacts, insurance information, and any case-specific details.
- Ensure patients understand and sign consent and release forms as required.
- Verify insurance eligibility, particularly for governmental payors like Medicaid, Medicare, and Tricare, and complete the Medicare Secondary Payor Questionnaire for eligible patients.
- Monitor patient accounts for outstanding balances and coordinate with Accounting when needed.
- Utilize critical thinking skills and make decisive judgments while working independently in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED.
