Responsibilities

As a Patient Registration Representative at St. Bernardine Medical Center, you will play a vital role in ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for patients. You will assist with patient registration, identification, and financial coordination, serving as a key point of contact for patients and their families. Your work will help support hospital operations while ensuring that all necessary information is collected accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist patients with check-in and registration, ensuring accurate demographic and insurance information is collected

• Verify patient identification and coordinate bed assignments as needed

• Provide financial counseling, including explaining patient responsibilities and payment options

• Address non-clinical patient needs and respond to inquiries with professionalism and compassion

• Maintain compliance with hospital policies and support the strategic goals of St. Bernardine Medical Center

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience working in a hospital Patient Registration department, physician office setting, healthcare insurance company, revenue cycle vendor, and/or other revenue cycle related roles

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent.

• Thorough understanding of insurance policies and procedures.

• Working knowledge of medical terminology.

• Able to perform basic mathematics for payment calculation.

• Experience in requesting and processing financial payments.

• Intermediate to advanced computer skills.

• Knowledge of charity care programs as well as the various government and non-government programs preferred.
