Patient Mobility Specialist - UnityPoint Health : Job Details

Contributes toward accomplishment of patient's Plan of Care goals by providing mobility activities as assigned by the nurse. Provides assistance to persons served and their family to learn to safely manage personal care while increasing activity, strength, and endurance. Effectively works with the patient and their support team, reinforcing therapy and therapy/mobility initiatives. Effectively communicates changes in patient condition and functional ability to support an expedited change in the patient's plan of care and prevention of more serious complications. Demonstrates the knowledge that patient and workplace safety is a priority by preventing errors, accidents and infections and reporting potential or actual concerns immediately. Utilizes a holistic approach (considering physical, psych/social, spiritual, educational, safety, and related criteria) appropriate to the age of the patients served in the assigned service area.
