Patient Escort - Guest Services - University of Iowa : Job Details

The University of Iowa Health Care department of Guest Services, is seeking a Patient Escort. This position will be full-time with a primary schedule of 8 a.m to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. Under general supervision, meets, greets, assists, and transports ambulatory patients and visitors to and from University Hospitals utilizing various modes of transportation including wheelchairs, patient beds, and carts. Assists with the delivery, care, cleaning and appropriate storage of patient care assets and medical equipment. CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Welcomes and acknowledges all guests according to appropriate standards. Provides inter-clinic and intra-hospital patient transport. Delivers and retrieves patient care assets and medical equipment within given time constraints (i.e. STAT calls). Monitors medical equipment using Mobile View software to ensure par levels are maintained in key areas. Performs cleaning of medical equipment and makes minor adjustments as needed.
