Patient Care Technician PCT - Inpatient (Full Time) - UnityPoint Health : Job Details

Clinical Excellence/ Patient Care - Assists patients with tasks they are unable to do for themselves, (ADL's, feeding, grooming, mobility, etc). - Monitors the health of patients via vital signs, glucose assessments, safety rounds, and reports as appropriate to the nurse. - Observes patient's condition, and any changes in their physical, emotional or mental status, and communicates the status of the patient, including any changes, periodically, to a supervisor, case manager, or nurse. - Promptly completes documentation to assure an accurate legal record of patient's care. - Follows infection prevention measures. Environment - Assists the team to ensure adequate stock and supply is available for patient care. - Supports the team in keeping patient rooms and the work area safe and clean. Clerical - Assists the team to respond to patient calls in a timely fashion. - Supports the medical team in handling paperwork.
