Job DetailsJob Location Nacogdoches, TX Position Type Full Time Job Shift Day Description The Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides consistent hygienic care and support to assigned patients in a professional, courteous, and thorough manner, ensuring optimal patient comfort, safety, and dignity. The PCT assists nursing staff and other healthcare professionals by carrying out a variety of essential patient care and clerical duties. Essential Job Functions:
  • Provide consistent hygienic care to assigned patients, maintaining professionalism and respect.
  • Change patient linens as appropriate and maintain clean and comfortable patient environments.
  • Turn patients and maintain body alignment as directed; assist patients to and from bathrooms.
  • Accurately take and document vital signs, oxygen levels, food/liquid intake, blood pressure, and temperature in EMR.
  • Communicate incomplete duties during shift handoff to charge nurse or team leader.
  • Maintain orderly patient rooms: fill water pitchers, clean eyeglasses, check patient laundry, and ensure accessibility of call lights, phones, remotes, etc.
  • Obtain and record intake & output, collect specimens, and follow proper documentation protocols.
  • Perform Accu-Check glucose testing and promptly report results to appropriate nursing staff.
  • Prepare patients for meals-assist with dressing, hygiene, and transportation to dining area.
  • Monitor dining area during mealtime and assist as needed.
  • Coordinate with other departments to check schedules and ensure correct patient identification before transportation.
  • Safely transport patients and ensure charts/paperwork accompany the patient. Follow all driving and transport safety procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the hospital's mission and vision.
  • Qualifications
    • Required: Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
    • Preferred: Previous patient care experience.
    • Required: BLS (CPR) certification.
    • Preferred: ER or Psych experience.
