Responsibilities:
Assist patients with procedures and activities of daily living (ADLs).
Provide feedback to RN and report patient status changes.
Participate in unit activities: respond to call lights, pass meal trays, transport patients.
Receive feedback constructively and identify learning needs; engage in self-improvement.
Educate patients and families under RN supervision.
Apply, monitor, and remove patient restraints per protocol.
Maintain professional, respectful relationships and support workplace safety.
Adhere strictly to policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Support departmental projects, quality initiatives, and suggest improvements.
Document care accurately and complete clerical duties as assigned
High school diploma or GED required.
Must meet one of the following:
Minimum 1 year of general healthcare experience, OR
At least 6 months as a UPMC Nursing Assistant/CNA with PCT competency completed within 120 days of hire/transfer/promotion, OR
Currently enrolled in a PT/OT/PA or related healthcare program with at least one clinical rotation completed, OR
Bachelor's degree in a health sciences field.
Successful completion of UPMC Patient Care Technician class and eRecord training required Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire ACLS preferredCCM
