Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality customer service by greeting, registering, and discharging all patients.
  • Cross-train and assist with back-office duties as needed.
  • Accurately collect and input patient demographics and financial information during registration.
  • Verify and update patient insurance details at registration.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of medical insurance plans, including co-pays, deductibles, and coverage limits.
  • Stay informed on changes to Government and Commercial Insurance Plans.
  • Understand and explain the Fast Pace Self-Pay program.
  • Collect insurance co-pays, deductibles, or self-pay amounts during patient registration.
  • Answer phone calls courteously and maintain a patient-centered approach.
  • Facilitate patient flow by keeping track of patient arrivals and communicating with staff to manage delays.
  • Assist in retrieving, faxing, or mailing medical records as necessary to support continuity of care.
  • Cross-train on back-office clinical skills to perform in a versatile role as needed.
  • Complete compliance training and adhere to all processes to ensure standards are met.
  • Foster friendly relationships with patients and colleagues, maintaining a positive work environment.
  • Perform required physical and environmental tasks related to the position.
  • Support cleanliness and organization in the office, including reception and clinical areas.
  • Welcome new employees, facilitating their introduction to the team and clinic processes.
  • Assist in training new staff through job shadowing and coaching.
  • Comply with company operational standards and core values, such as teamwork and quality of care.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in basic computer skills and maintain an organized workspace.
  • Participate in various team duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Additional Requirements:

  • Level 1: High School Diploma or equivalent with a current CPR license and at least one year of customer service experience, preferably in urgent care.
  • Level 2: High School Diploma or equivalent with a current CPR license and three years of experience in billing and coding, including intermediate computer skills.
  • Level 3: High School Diploma or equivalent with a current CPR license and three years of experience in billing and coding, with proficient computer skills including typing 70-100 words per minute and knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • One year of medical office experience with basic medical terminology and insurance knowledge preferred.
  • One year experience using PC, including Microsoft Office (Outlook and Word).
