Key Responsibilities: - Scheduling & Follow-up:
- Schedule post-operative and follow-up appointments for patients in a timely and efficient manner.
- Coordinate appointment reminders and follow-up communications.
- Ensure all pre- and post-operative instructions are clearly communicated and documented.
- Patient Referrals:
- Process inbound and outbound patient referrals in accordance with clinical protocols.
- Track referral status and ensure timely completion of referral appointments.
- Maintain accurate records of all referral communications.
- Medical Record Audits:
- Conduct regular audits of patient medical records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with HIPAA and organizational standards.
- Identify and report discrepancies or documentation gaps to the Medical Records Director.
- Communication & Coordination:
- Serve as a point of contact for patients regarding care coordination, appointment status, and required documentation.
- Collaborate with providers, clinical staff, and administrative personnel to ensure continuity of care.
- Address patient questions and concerns with professionalism and empathy.
Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a coordination or administrative role.
- Proficient in medical terminology and understanding of clinical workflows.
- Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems required.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and confidentiality requirements.
Supervision: This position reports directly to the
Medical Records Director and works closely with both the administrative and clinical teams
