Patient Care Assistant - ECHN : Job Details

Position Summary: As a Patient Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting patients with their daily needs and ensuring a high standard of care under the guidance of registered nurses (RN) or licensed practical nurses (LPN).

In this position, you will:

• Assist patients with basic human needs and activities of daily living.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to promote a safe and clean environment.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.
• Report any changes in patient status to the RN or LPN promptly.

Education/Certification:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Successful completion of a certified nursing assistant program is preferred but not mandatory.
• Active Certified Nurse Assistant certification upon hire is required.
• Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support is needed upon hire or within the introductory orientation period.

Competencies:

• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Basic computer skills are essential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This role includes, but is not limited to the following:

• Providing comprehensive patient care that addresses both physical and psychosocial needs.
• Assisting in the admission, transfer, and discharge of patients as necessary.
• Transporting patients safely within the facility.
• Assisting in clinical procedures such as pulse oximetry, telemetry application, and glucose monitoring.
