Position Summary:
The Patient Care Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting patients by meeting their basic needs and assisting with activities of daily living under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). This position involves clear communication with patients, families, and team members to ensure a safe and clean environment for all.
Education/Certification:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of a certified nursing assistant program preferred, or active Certified Nurse Assistant certification upon hire
- Completion of classroom training on Nurse Aide competencies is required during the introductory orientation period
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification upon hire or within the introductory orientation period
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide patient care that addresses physical and psychosocial needs within the nursing assistant's scope of practice Assist with patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes Effectively communicate any changes in patient status to the RN or LPN Document data and assist in maintaining accurate medical records Contribute to a safe environment that promotes positive patient outcomes Transport patients safely as needed Perform assigned clinical tasks such as removal of saline locks, Foley catheter removal, pulse oximetry, telemetry application, and EKGs Additional responsibilities may be assigned to ensure unit efficiency Join us and make a difference in the lives of our patients while enjoying a supportive and engaging work environment!
