Pay Range: $16.90-$26.26

The base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. Shift differentials have been included in the range. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity and contracts.

Job Summary

The OR Patient Care Assistant provides compassionate patient care to a diverse age group of patients with a variety of medical and/or surgical conditions under the direction of the registered nurse. This individual provides direct patient care and works collaboratively with other patient care team members including the patient and family, to achieve optimal patient outcomes. All care is provided under

the direction and supervision of a registered or licensed nurse. The OR Aide assists with activities of daily living and delegated patient care treatments and procedures. Is responsible to assist with ambulation of patients, turning patients and promoting comfort.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement :

High school level of knowledge. Previous experience or graduated from a Nursing Assistant program. Ability to document on medical records and patient care forms and understand printed health related material.

Minimum Experience Requirement :

Previous OR and/or medical surgical experience preferred. Computer experience preferred. Works effectively with others, possess tact, discretion and diplomacy. Ability to work under stress and complete duties sometimes with numerous interruptions. Must be able to write legibly and be able to document, accurately, type of care given. Must be able to communicate information to supervisor and co-workers. May need to work beyond scheduled hours when necessary. On call responsibilities to meet the needs of the Operating Room. Must be familiar with equipment used to move patients, take vital signs and document. Assists with safe assembly of complex OR equipment and patient positioning devices. Ability to understand printed health related material. Knowledge in the use and cleaning/sterilization/disinfection of equipment and instrumentation utilized in the clinical operating room setting.

Minimum License Requirement :

BLS certification required.
