Patient Ambulation Technician - University of Pittsburgh Medical Center : Job Details

Assists with clerical functions. Demonstrates timely completion of all annual competencies as required by department, regulatory and accrediting agencies and UPMC Health System. Assists with the treatment of patients under the supervision of professional staff including but not limited to; ambulating patients as directed by licensed professional. Patient treatment including transfers/bed mobility, vital signs, therapeutic activities/exercise. Assisting patients with the use of various modes of exercise equipment. Adhering to safety measures/procedures set forth by department policies and procedures. Offering explanation/clarification to patients as needed (within their scope of this position, their experience and training). Notifying licensed professionals when uncertain of treatment program/technique or if/when patient's response/condition changes.
