Sierra Vista Hospital is seeking a Patient Account Representative for the Business Office. If you're passionate about working in the behavioral health setting and have the desire to join a team of healthcare professionals dedicated to serving our patients, we want to hear from you!

The Sierra Vista Hospital location, a 171-bed psychiatric care facility located in south Sacramento, is a full-service mental health facility and a center of support for patients and their families. Since 1986, we have offered our clinical expertise to those suffering from emotional, behavioral and addiction problems.

Responsibilities include processing all statements on in-house and discharged patients, maintaining follow-up and collection activity, maintaining patient financial files, advising and assisting patients and their families regarding hospital financial policies, and performing various clerical responsibilities as assigned.

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years prior collections experience in a hospital setting recommended; psychiatric experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively deal with hospital management and the public.
• Average to high math skills; experience with online Admission/Billing systems desirable.
• Knowledge of third-party payment procedures, managed care, and government programs recommended.
• Good problem-solving skills; knowledge of credit, collection, and confidentiality laws highly desirable.
